A Weekly Feature by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read--come join us as we learn about our fellow bloggers by answering a weekly question.
If you could only have ONE – one book – for the rest of your life. Don’t cheat…what would it be?
For the record: this one is such a HARD QUESTION!! I mean, I am a mother of one child...but I could in my head equate it to be picking a favorite child. Perhaps that is a bit melodramatic but it does feel a bit like that to me. Does it to you?Well, playing fairly to this week's question: I am going to pick a title that I can turn to that can always get me out of a reading funk. I imagine that if I only ever got to read one book for the rest of my life, it would be this one just because of that single feature:
Devil's Bride
By Stephanie Laurens
I know that this may be an odd choice, especially give how much I have read since I first read this title, but what I love about this book is Honoria--the main character.
She possess so much strength and character that she would be an amazing person to know. I also can appreciate returning to this book now that I have finished all of first generation's books. I am eagerly anticipating what Ms. Laurens does now that she has finished up the first generation's stories with the last book published this summer: The Taming of Ryder Cavanugh. I truly hope she continues to write the Cynster family stories as I can only begin to imagine how these illustrious individuals will behave once THEIR children begin to seek their life's partner.
So there you have it--my one book I would pick. I hope to goodness this would never come to fruition. I would be devastated and I bet you would be too. Wow...I guess I am in a melodramatic mood today!! LOL
What book would you choose and why? Be sure to leave me your link in the comments below so I can come and visit you over the long holiday weekend (at least for those of us in the US). ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this book but sounds great! I've never read a series that continues through two generations. Well, truth be told, I usually read the first book and even if I like it, won't read the second one right away.

Great reason to choose this book... I've never read it, but I always appreciate those books that get you in the reading mood again.
